Thank you for visiting our pages. We would love it if you would  add to this guestbook we are keeping!

I went to HCI in 66 - 68, haven't been back since 1970. Where are Jan Pulvermacher, Murray Ogilvie, Bill Bobinski, John Ross, Eileen Chamney, Mary-Ellen Kaese, Peter Rosenberg, Noreen Palmer, Lynn Stuckel, etc., etc.. Hope I can make it to Humboldt in June.

I was looking for info. on the Humbolt Broncos and stumbled onto the guest book. Our local hockey team, the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL, picked up one of your D-men, Andy Shenn in last falls bantam draft. I can find no info. on him or your team. A web site adress for the Broncos would be great, but personal opinions on him would be better. Thanks, and hello from Spokane, WA. USA

Looking forward to going back to Humboldt for the reunion in 2002, to see many old buddies (I went to HCI from 1969-72). I hope someday, someone, somewhere will write a book or do a movie about this town. (I once brought back a girl friend who was a journalism student and spent a few days in Humboldt - she wrote a story about her time there; her professor stated that the characters and events that happened were "highly imaginative" but he did not believe that the events or people were real. That's Humboldt. Go figure...) See you all at the reunion in 2002.

Although the situation turned into a tragedy, Morris and his family will never be forgotten and they will always be in my heart. I wish I could continue to be there for them. Hey there all you Humboldtians! Just dropping a line to all of Bean's friends back home. Bean just wanted to let you know that while peanuts are full of fibre and wholesome in other fibre-related properties, you might want to consider the jelly as opposed to peanut butter, because, hey, who can be sure that peanuts really go into peanut butter? Bean for one would not want to find out otherwise, in the long run. Bean loves you!

nice site, it's just a shame that the people who live in your community are so sheltered from what is really going on in the world. It's time to get out and see what is happening, be more understanding of people who aren't like you and who don't fit in your idea of what is "normal". I've heard Humboldt was a great place to live and to bring up kids, but I would have to disagree after seeing how you treat outsiders as freaks. Learn to be accepting of others, and learn that there are people out there who still have much to give to a community that is lacking in so much. Sure, it is great that the German Theme is going along nicely, but ensure that each one of your citizens is instilled with the values of love, compassion, and acceptance of others. Then you will have a truly wonderful town. Ensure that racism, sexism, and what have you are quashed and not tolerated; we are put here for a reason, and that is to grow. Without the basic principles of understanding how other cultures & communities can interact and benefit your community, you will have a "pretty" town with horrible inhabitants. The choice is yours.

Hi! We will be in Humboldt over Christmas this year, for the first time in a while. Hope to touch base with some old friends that may be making the trip back at that time, or are still around the 'Bolt although it seems most of the grad class of '76 are now elsewhere. Last time I posted here, I received several messages from lost acquaintances, and hope that to be the case again. As for our family, things are going well here on the west coast, and no it doesn't rain every day in winter, in fact it's sunny and 9 today (not to say there won't be a down pour 20 minutes from now)!

Great web site ! Lokks like a nice Town, maybe I can visit someday. I am looking for the family PODOLESKI,PODALESKI,PODOLECKI, PADALASKY,PODALASKY. THIS FAMILY would have probably immigrated from AUSTRIA/POLAND in mid to late 1800's. We are part of this family and we are 400 to 500 relatives in TEXAS,USA. Antoni and Marie Padalecki arrived in Port of New York 1889, from Dziekanowice,Krakowskie,Poland, Some of the family have variant spellings to the surname due to Amreican immigration officials. The correct Polish spelling is PODOLECKI/PODOLESKI, while the Austrian spelling is PADALECKI/PADAILECKI. THE family can be traced back to 1495 in LVIV,Kiev,Belarus,Minsk. Please email me if you know this family or are a member of this family. Sondra Padalecki

From 1948 to 1955 my folks, Nick and Janet Indzeoski used to run a thriving little restaurant on the corner of 11th Street & 5th Avenue. Directly across the street to the south was the railway station. Directly across the street to the east was the Windsor Hotel which is still there. The restaurant was called the Depot Lunch. It was a bus stop and a train stop. Mom's and Dad's younger sisters all took their turns at working as waitresses there. A couple of them even romanced their future mates there. Dad passed away in 1990. Mom still owns the building which has been run as a Health Food Store for many years. The store is now closed, the building is for sale, but the memories live on. Does anyone out there remember the Good Old Days at the Depot Lunch? It would be fun to hear from you. I would love to share your memories with Mom.

Hi! Verna and I visited Humboldt twice recently April, '99, and received very warm welcome and hospitality, especially at the information center and the Seniors' Center. Active retirees, we are serously considering relocating to Humboldt from Southern Ontario. We would be most grateful if someone were to act as a contact person,by e-mail, telephone, or post. Among other things, we would appreciate information about rental accommodations or low-maintenance real estate, Internet service provider(s) and seniors' activities in general. My family and I lived in Humboldt from 1950 to 1962 and I worked for the Railway.  We moved to Melville in '62.
Humboldt was a great place to live, and we especially enjoyed Walsea Lake.  It is great to read the messages in the guest book and recognize so many names after all these years.
I retired to Abbotsford BC in '86 and enjoy it here, particularily the weather - as most of you know it doesn't rain here that often.

Just serfing the web, noticed all the interesting things that the Humboldt area is noted for. My father farms and uses the "Bourgault" line of equipment. I work for a building supply centre (Newton Enterprises) and we sell the "Del-Air" line of ventilation equipment. Keep up the good work Humboldt and area. Nice design on home page. Al

I had the great pleasure of living in Humboldt in 1988/9. It is a wonderful place, with some of the finest people I have had to fortune to meet. I will be visiting, but only for a couple of days unfortunately, to catch up with a few old friends. I especially looking forward to visiting with friends at St Peter's Abbey, Meunster. I would like to say a special 'hello' to all who are involved with the group homes and the workshop. Humboldt was very kind to me, and I still miss the place. I am sending this email to you from my office in the Aston Webb Building of the University of Birmingham, here in the West Midlands. We are having a bit of a heat wave, the temperature is about 22 degrees, hardly a breathe of wind. See you in a few days time.

Keep up the good work, guys. It's about 26 Degrees Celcius at the moment and I'm sitting by the beach in one of my friend's houses...not bad for the beginning of March, eh! We've had temperatures up to 35 degrees this summer, bet you'd love some of that! But, it is cooling down a bit as autumn is almost here. Best wishes to everyone I know...especially those who have or are getting married...and that is quite a few!! Yes, we do find these things out, as we get sent the Good Ole Humboldt Journal. We're coming!!! Would you believe we're bucking the trend and moving back to Saskatchewan to retire from B.C. 25 Swain Crescent will be our address and we hope to be moved before the end of May. Really looking forward to returning "home". On a different note, I believe Saskatchewan athletes garnered more medals at the Olympics than most countries!! You all should be proud of Weatherspoon and his speed skating accomplishments coming from Humboldt. Wondering why Humboldt? My wife Margaret's sister is Evelyn Yaworski (married to Gus) who also live on Swain Crescent. Can't wait to get moved!

Humboldt on the Net? Whooda thunk it? Anyhoo, in case anyone cares, I'm in my first year of the Post Academic program in the College of Education here at the University of Saskatchewan. "Post-Academic" means I actually have a degree already. Yup, I'm technically a college graduate! I have my English Honours Degree, which is a far cry from my high school aspirations. But, hey, life is all about change and the unknown, right? If you want to yak at me, my email address is below. Any teachers out there, I would love some words of advice and encouragement. Farewell, Humboldt, my childhood home! Ah, Nostalgia! (I better go before I get all misty eyed)

AFS Interculture Canada - Saskatchewan Are you a former, present, or future exchange student to Saskatchewan? Are you an AFS returnee, volunteer, or host family in Saskatchewan? I see that a few former exchange students have used this guestbook to try and locate people. I have begun creating a website that is of interest to you. I am working on a website where anyone involved with AFS in Saskatchewan or around the world can meet and exchange ideas, exchange addresses, and find long lost friends and exchange students. The URL of my webpage is included at the end of this message. It is a basic website at present but there is a guestbook which you can sign. Please include your e-mail address to allow other AFS people to contact you. E-mail me from here or from my site to let me know what you have been doing. I will pass the info on to Joan and the other volunteers in Saskatchewan! Thanks a bunch!

Wow! What a surprise to find Humboldt, Sask on the Net. Woke up this morning in Lyttelton New Zealand to 2 feet of snow. They said it wasn't suppossed to snow in the South Pacific but they were wrong. Am currently working for Serco Group New Zealand in a facilities management contract for the Banks Peninsula District Council. Great job, great life. My parents, Ronald and Jennifer Jurgens are doing well. Dad works at the Christchurch Casino in security and says hell to all his old mates in Humboldt. Mom is retired and enjoying her gardening - formerly worked at the Land Titles Office. My brothers Jason and Blair - ex Humbold Legion Speed Team swimmers also live here. Blair works for the telephone company - New Zealand Telecom and Jason works as a bartender at the casino. Once again, great to be in touch with Humboldt. I didn't make it back this summer but this is the next best thing. Take care and come visit if you get a chance. Kia Ora.

It's stupid! Why can't they just leave it the way that it is? I'll be at a cabin at Middle Lake (where Zimmer's and Hoffman's cabin's are. Anybody know where that is?). And I'll be spending time at a farm near Fulda. SOMEBODY PLEASE WRITE BACK TO ME!!!! PLEASE!!! Alecia

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of thefollowing two books: SHARING OUR HERTITAGE, published by the Lake Lenore History Book Committee and OUR HERITAGE - VERNDALE, written in 1967 by a student Barbara Pfeiffer. It is good to see Humboldt has gotten online. It is an excellent opportunity to promote your community. Humboldt sure has changed since my family and I left in 1982. However, one thing I notice whenever I come "home" to visit that hasn't changed, it is still a clean progressive community and has probably one of the best quality of lifestyles on the prairies! Anyone that I grew up with that is planning on heading out to Quebec, drop a line so we can get together. P.S. No matter what Mrs. Wassil said, you don't need parlez vous francais, to live Montreal.Myron Becker

Hi to all in Humboldt. This was one of my home towns. Went thru public school and started high school there. 1950"s The old city post office brings back memories. This was back when the old H-HUTS were still there. The golf course was a favorite play ground, as well as the orchard at the hospital. We use to raft on the mile slough:-) , yes just like huck/finn! Still have a sister (Mildred and Carl Fischl) living in middle Lake. Related thru marraige to Dagenaise , who should still be in Humboldt. Is there a SERVER located in Humboldt, if so maby could get Name etc..... Regards Harry
